With Australias’ vast network of pipelines the helicopter has come into its own as the perfect resource to patrol gas and oil fields and associated pipelines involved.

The helicopter is able to fly along easements at speeds of 0km/hr to 200km/hr. With an unobstructed view the observer is able to assess the state of the line and if needed land on the line to have a closer look or talk to local landowners.

MI Helicopters uses the helicopter for:

Line patrols
Crew ferry
Emergency repair and inspections
Sub station inspections and readings
Radio communication tower remote access

Contractors are able to utilise all of MI Helicopters technology when conducting their patrols eg:

Moving map displays and overlays
Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
