One method is to use under-slung buckets such as the Bambi bucket to drop water on the fire from above.

The bucket has a low cost compared to fixed tanks, is simple to install, easy released and effortlessly filled from lakes and streams.

A quick response is required with any fire outbreak. The Bambi bucket assists with immediate response, providing the ability to be carried inside the helicopter while travelling to its required destination. This method is especially helpful with fires in remote areas.

The Bambi bucket provides the pilot with more control of how much water is carried. Weighted on the side, the Bambi bucket almost instantly submerges and fills when dropped into water.
